Amalgam Core

Posting a small response takes less time than editing a video 
That said, I told that I was going to post something this weekend, but I’ll have to postpone it till wednesday. But as an “amuse-gueule” here is a case I did this month.
Sometimes when the caries extends too deep, I still prefer an amalgam core above a composite core. This is not a definitve restoration, it will act as a core for a crown.
It has been a long time, but this molar only had 3 canals.
I have not added much documentation, sorry for that.

Do you ussualy use this kind of core,or it’s an exception?Actually ,I’m a begginer in endodontics and I intend to ask what kind of post core do you usually use.And what kind of adhesif.
I’m asking cause I want to change all my actual kind of working.I’m an old GP,but till now ,all my endos were made in the hurried GP way.

Its an exception for me to use an amalgam core build up. Normally I prefer a composite core build up with a fiber post if needed. The reason I used an amalgam core in this case, was the extent of the secondary carious lesion. It was very difficult to isolate this tooth properly and in those case I prefer an amalgam build up.
So in short, when you are not sure of perfect, and I mean really perfect, isolation, then an amalgam build up may be the better choice.
