The referring collegue fractured an instrument in mb1. On the X-Ray it seemed to be a straight canal. But it had a distal curve. The file was loose but was stuck on the mesial wall. I better had removed sound dentine at the mesial wall instead of the inner curve. But finally it jumped out without any perforation. This time I had luck. This patient has been sent to me, after the referring dentist broke a Beutelrock drill in mb1. It seemed to be “a piece of cake” at first glance. But the instrument was stuck. Wedged in the dentine of the root canal walls. It was not possible to remove it with ultrasonics alone. Although it could be loosen up a little bit, it did not jump out as expected.
